Janis Elaine Maas

Fairfax-Janis Elaine Maas was born July 9, 1938, in Conroy, Iowa.  The daughter of Arthur and Adeline (Baack) Maas.  She worked  as a legal secretary and also for the Czech Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids.  She enjoyed all animals especially cats.  She was also very talented in playing the piano and organ.  Janis died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids at the age of 85 years.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Willard and Gilbert Maas and three sisters, Arlene Maas, Dorothea Heinze and Delores Witte.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Conroy.  Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg is caring for services.  Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
