Janet Lee Morrison

North English- Janet Lee Morrison was born January 14, 1935 in North English, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore Wayne and Velma Arloa (Cover) VanAuken. She graduated from North English High School in 1953 and went on to AIB College in Des Moines. On February 21, 1955 Janet was united in marriage to James Leroy Morrison at the North English Christian Church. Janet worked for the state of Iowa for many years in the liquor department and the DOT. She was a member of the North English Christian Church and a former member of the Marengo VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, bowling, golfing, baking and playing outside with her grandchildren. Janet died on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the English Valley Care Center in North English at the age of 83 years.

She is survived by her children: Kathy (Gary) Netser of North English, James (Carol) Morrison of Belle Plaine and Lynn (Pam) Morrison of North English; 10 grandchildren David Robinson, Amber Netser, Ryann Knapp, Christopher DeMeyer, Melissa Huber, Paige Morrison, Tanner Morrison, Sabrina Cox, Jim Carder and Cheryl Carder; 18 great grandchildren; a sister Linda Conner-Rathman of Minneapolis, MN; a niece Debbi (Jim) Johnson of Sammamish, WA; great nephews Nick & Christopher Johnson and numerous cousins. Janet was preceded by her parents; husband James; a grandson Tucker Morrison and a special friend Lee Mast.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials are for the North English Community Center or Essence of Life Hospice.
