Janet Ledbetter, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Keosauqua Health Care Center in Keosauqua, IA.Visitation will be Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jeff McPheron officiating. Gifts of love and friendship to honor Janet, may be given to Keosauqua Health Care Center, specifically for King, their therapy dog. On line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com .Born July 29, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, Janet Jo was the daughter of Archie Clifton and Waneta (Hines) Ledbetter. She attended school in Mt. Pleasant through eighth grade then went to Hope Haven Development Center in Burlington. Janet worked at Hope Haven and later at Dave's Super Valu, in Mt. Pleasant, until the store closed. She loved animals, especially dogs, and volunteered at PAWS in Fort Madison and Burlington. She enjoyed word search puzzles, coloring books, the Disney Channel, movies about dogs and the movie "Grease". Janet also loved to bake for family and friends. Janet is survived by her brother, John Ledbetter of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and four aunts, Margaret Hinman of Cordova, TN, Joyce Snyder of West Burlington, IA, Norma Hedger of Sacramento, CA, and Sandra Hunter of Fort Madison, IA. Janet is also survived by numerous cousins including Kathy and her husband Kenny Hawkins of Salem, IA.Preceding Janet in death were her parents and a sister-in-law, Pat Ledbetter.
