James T. “Jim” Wang, age 67, of Malcom, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Malcom Auditorium, in Malcom. A memorial fund has been established. The family is in the care of Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory, his wife Sharon of 43 years; two children, Michael (Lisa) Wang, of Brooklyn and Jamie Wang (Randy Masterson), of Malcom; seven grandchildren, Kyra Wang, Hailey Wang, Dacia Mikesell, Lynk Wang, Vayda Wang, Jack Wang and Brandon Masterson; and a sister, Jeri Bogue, of Grinnell. James was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Janice Wang, a sister Pam Bryan and his parents-in-law, Wesley and Doris Reida.
James Todd Wang was born July 15, 1955, in Grinnell, the son of Gerald and Janice (Todd) Wang. He graduated in 1974 from BGM high school and continued his education at Scott Community College, receiving a degree in HVAC Technology. Throughout the years, Jim was employed as an over the road truck driver, a farmer and as a HVAC Tech. He was united in marriage to Sharon Reida, on February 23, 1980 at the Malcom Methodist Church. Jim was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Malcom Fire Department. Because of his love of airplanes, James acquired his pilot’s license. He enjoyed golfing, camping, farming and being a snowbird with Sharon. Jim was everyone’s handyman and loved to make people laugh. He also enjoyed redoing his 1933 John Deere Model A and his John Deere 4010. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.
