James (Jim) Allen Jones of Greeley, Colorado passed away in his home on June 18th following a 2 year battle with cancer at the age of 62 years. He was born on October 10, 1952 - the son of Leighton and M.Jeanne Kinzler Jones of Williamsburg, Iowa. Jim attended schools in the Williamsburg area, graduating in 1971. St Paul Lutheran Church provided the setting for his marriage to Bonnie Lane Jones on December 18, 1971 and for his baptism on January 26, 1973.
Places of employment in the area included Jones Fertilizer, Swift Research Farm and Gahring Construction. Jim owned and operated "Jones Dozing" in Iowa County for a number of years. In 1995 he relocated to Colorado where he was employed by Willies Grain and HH Williams Trucking. He drove semi for several years and then served as shop foreman until 2014. Jim and his wife Bonnie created "Fit 2 Show" in 2008-a livestock grooming supply and equipment business catering to 4-H events. He found great joy and satisfaction in traveling to fairs and jackpot shows across Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, developing numerous and fond relationships with 4-H/FFA youth and families.
Other favorite pastimes included sharing time with his grandchildren, woodworking, parades, yard work, and watching Westerns on TV. Jim was blessed with 3 children: Jodie Baumgartner (Rohn) of Hudson CO., Mandy Hinrichsen (Neil) of Williamsburg, and Jeremy (Stef) of Healy, KS. Grandchildren: Amanda and Matt Boshell of Thornton, CO, Justin and Lauren Baumgartner of Greeley, CO., Cody Baumgartner of Hudson, CO., Chance, Jaden, and Treven Jones of Healy, KS., and Elias, Egann, and Elery Hinrichsen of Williamsburg. Great Grandchildren are Blake, Dilin, and Eliana Boshell, and Alex Baumgartner. His mother: Jeanne Jones; two brothers: Bob (Sue) Jones and Tim (Kathy) Jones all of Williamsburg and a sister: Carol (Steven) Celarier of Cedar Rapids.
Loved ones gone before him include his father Leighton Jones, grandparents: Elias and Sadie Jones, Wallace and Roine Kinzler, and an infant brother, Norman Jones.
