Williamsburg-James (Jim) Eckholm was born January 16, 1954 in Estherville, Iowa, the son of Marvin (Pete) and Martha Helen (Angstrom) Eckholm. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Jim was united in marriage to Debra Wille on December 18, 1971 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. He has worked at Aspro, Inc in Waterloo, as a foreman of the asphalt plant for a number of years. He has lived most of his life in the Williamsburg community and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jim died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 58 years. He is survived by his wife Debra of Williamsburg; three daughters: Angie (Dewayne) Pounds, Heather (Joel) Stanerson all of Conroy and Lacey Von Lienen of Williamsburg; five grandchildren: Coleton Pounds, Meghan Pounds, Jenna Stanerson, Cooper Von Lienen and Carson Von Lienen; his father: Marvin (Pete) and Beverly Eckholm of Waterloo; five brothers and sisters: Gary (Nancy) Eckholm of Jesup, Shelly ( Dale) Kaplan of Belle Plaine, Jeanie (Bill) Montross, De Etta (Steve) Morrow all of Millersburg and Jeff (Lisa) Eckholm of Williamsburg; numerous nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law: Leona Wille of North English. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha; maternal and paternal grandparents; nephew Shane Eckholm and his father-in-law: Eldon Wille. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
