Dr. Cook was born July 23, 1919 in Williamsburg, the son of Charles and Eleanor (Jones) Cook. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1936 and the University of Iowa in orthodontics. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953. Dr. Cook died Monday, March 10, 2008, at his home in Columbia S.C. of an apparent heart attack at the age of 88years. He is survived by a brother Horace "Hod" ( Dee) Cook of Keizer, OR; a sister-in-law Helen Cook of Spokane, WA; 5 nieces- Susan of Seattle, WA, Mary of Houston, TX, Jennifer (Douglas) of Portland, OR, Lissa (Tom) of Bend, OR, and Linda (Ron) of San Antonio, TX; a nephew John (Kathy) Vance of Seattle WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Charles M., John A. and Robert, who died in infancy. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Williamsburg, IA. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are with the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
