James Anthony (Skip) Van Dee, age 47, died on Tuesday, January 2, 2006, following a long illness at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English with the Pastor Edwin Jordan officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Burial will be in the Armah Cemetery, rural North English. He is survived by his wife Tammy Van Dee of Cedar Rapids, IA; sons: T.J. Van Dee at home (Cedar Rapids), Mike Kuester of Cedar Rapids, IA, Gary and Aaron Kempf both of What Cheer, IA; his mother Audrey Wright and grandmother Florence Pepmeyer both of Cedar Rapids, IA. James Anthony (Skip) Van Dee was born on March 25, 1958 in What Cheer, IA, the son of Frederick Eugene and Audrey Fairchild Van Dee. He attended Tri County High School in Thornburg, IA. James lived and worked most of his life in Iowa and Keokuk Counties, doing construction and welding work. On August 20, 2004 he married Tammy Clubb in Cedar Rapids. James enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, camping, fishing and most of all being with his boys. James died of pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, January 2, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City
