Jack Lee Huber was born on may 28, 1943, in Washington, IA, the son of David Franklin and Eloise Edna Hall Huber. He grew up in North English and graduated from English Valleys High School. Jack served with the Marines from 1961 to 1964 and spent time in Japan, Okinawa and Vietnam. On June 26, 1965, he married Maxine Marie Morrison in Kinross, IA. They lived 13 years in West Liberty, and then moved back to North English in 1984. Jack worked 15 years at United Technology (now Lear) in Iowa City before retiring because of health reasons. He was a member of the North English United Methodist Church. Jack loved to fish and hunt. He died following a long illness at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA, on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 10 days. He is survived by his wife Maxine of North English, IA; a son David L. Huber of North English, IA; three grandsons: Shawn, Corey & Austin Huber; his mother Eloise Huber Swink of North English, IA; half-sisters: Donna Hospodarsky of Tupelo, MS and Vicki Ayers of South English, IA; and a half-brother Larry Swink of North English, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father Donald Swink and a step-grandson Josh Weibold. Funeral services will be held at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2005, with Pastor Don Ridenour officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Champion Hill Cemetery near North English. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, March 11, 2005.
