Isaac Jacobsmeier, 40, of West Point, IA, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Visitation will begin after12:00 noon, on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel. Family will be present from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:30 p.m. at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel with Father Wayne Kamm officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Salem East Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Nolan Andersens future education. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.
Born February 14, 1977, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, Isaac Michael Jacobsmeier was the son of Michael and Karen (Hoyer) Jacobsmeier. He was a 1995 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and had a AA degree from Southeastern Community College.
Isaac worked as a bartender/cook and was employed by McCleod USA in telemarketing. Very adventurous, Isaac loved water sports, biking, racing, 4-wheelers, and snowmobiles.
He was an avid Cardinals Baseball and Iowa Hawkeye Football fan. He liked to play cards especially euchre. Time with his son Nolan and family was the highlight of his life.
Surviving Isaac are his parents, Karen and Jake Jacobsmeier of Salem, IA, and Michael Jacobsmeier of Mt. Pleasant, IA; his son Nolan M. Andersen of Cedar Falls, IA; Grandparents Irene Jacobsmeier of Mt. Hamill, IA, and Louise Hoyer of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one half-brother, Zachary (Allison) Jacobsmeier of Milwaukee, WI; a half-sister, Kayla Shinofield of Des Moines, IA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Isaac was preceded in death by two grandfathers, J.R. Hoyer and Joe Jacobsmeier.
