SIGOURNEY-Irene Isabelle White, age 89, of Sigourney, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. Irene was born November 30, 1916, in Keokuk County, Iowa to Ira and Millie (Downey) Beall and graduated from high school in Missouri. On October 6, 1940 she married Lloyd White in Sigourney. The couple lived in several parts of the country while Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy. Irene returned to Sigourney in 1999. She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. Survivors include one son: Robert White and wife Sue of West Branch, Iowa; three grandchildren: Amanda Berka of Fort Collins, Colorado, Edmund Noveshen of Ames, Iowa and Kathleen Noveshen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters: Doris Jennings of Ottumwa, Iowa and Iona Streigle of Sigourney, Iowa and one sister-in-law: Luella White of Keosauqua, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lloyd on June 12, 1993; daughter: Roberta Ann Noveshen on March 1, 2006 and two sisters: June Potter and Bernice Potter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with Rev. Jim Bringman officiating. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at the funeral chapel. A memorial fund has been established for the Manor House Care Center. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
