Iona "Onie" T. Seitsinger was born April 9, 1911 near Millersburg, Iowa the daughter of James and Myrtle (King) Montross. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1928 and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She taught rural school near Millersburg for several years. On January 27, 1934 she was united in marriage to Marlowe J. Seitsinger in Kirksville, Missouri. They lived in the Kinross community until moving to Wellman in 1994. Onie was an active member of the Kinross Christian Church congregation and retained her membership at the Millersburg Methodist Church. Onie died on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a brief illness at the age of 94 years. Onie is survived by her husband Marlowe of Wellman; 3 daughters - Sherry Shain and husband Bob of Warrington, Pennsylvania; Dixie Hathaway of Goshen, Kentucky; Ginger Sheetz and husband Jim of Keota; a son - Ronald Seitsinger and wife Nancy of Sumner; 11 grandchildren - Cynthia Shain and husband Dave, Stephanie Shain and husband Adam, Michael Shain, Gregory Hathaway and wife Christy, Kathryn Hathaway Arrowood and husband Bruce, Daniel Seitsinger and wife Pat, David Seitsinger and wife Denise, Lori Seitsinger, Holly Sheetz Wredt and husband Tony, Shelly Sheetz and husband Robb, Wendy Sheetz and husband Michael; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother - Everett Montross; and 3 sisters - Elva Lacy, Inez Martin and Emma Montross.
