Imogene Hinkle, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at the Henry County Health Center. Visitation for Mrs. Hinkle will be held on Monday, July 17, beginning after 12 noon at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, IA, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trenton Missionary Church, with Pastors Joe Forest and Gary Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in the Green Mound Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Trenton Missionary Church and Timberlake Church Camp. The daughter of G. Fred and Sylvia Kyle Moore, Imogene was born on January 9, 1930, in Fairfield, Iowa. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. She later earned her teaching degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. On July 24, 1949, she married Lloyd E. Hinkle at her parents' home in rural Lockridge, Iowa. The couple lived on their farm west of Trenton, IA, until Lloyd's death on December 8, 2004. Following his death, Imogene moved to Mt.Pleasant. A teacher for 35 years, Imogene first taught in rural Jefferson and Henry Counties, and then taught for 30 years in the WACO School System. She was a member of the Trenton Missionary Church for 56 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and chorister. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Club. Imogene was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, WACO Retired Teacher's, and the Henry County Retired Teacher's Organization, along with being active in the Henry County Republican Women's Committee. Imogene enjoyed following her grandchildren's activities. She was a letter writer and card sender. She enjoyed cooking and singing. Mrs. Hinkle is survived by two sons, Dennis Hinkle and his wife Monica of Burlington, IA, Donald Hinkle and his wife Kim of Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren, Shannon Hinkle, Shelly Hinkle, Brandon Hinkle, Josh Hinkle, Cally and her husband Jeremiah Schlee, Ryan Wood, Kyle Roed, and Tim Roed; and one great-granddaughter Karley Schlee. Along with her husband, Mrs. Hinkle was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Mary Moore.
