Hope Faye Frederickson, was born July 28, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Harold Fred and Helen (Glandorf) Iburg. She attended L.I.S. and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1980. Hope was united in marriage to Charles Gingerich on June 20, 1980 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. To this union they were blessed with three children, Jesse, Kyle and Samantha. They later divorced. On January 6, 2006 Hope was united in marriage to Scott Frederickson at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. She has lived in the Wellman and Williamsburg areas most of her life until moving to Altoona the last few years. Hope worked at Life Touch as a photographer for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling, painting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. In high school she was active in 4-H and later served on the Iowa County Fair Board. Hope was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. She was a loving mother and was always involved in her children's activities. Hope passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on April 24, 2012, surrounded by her family at the Taylor Hospice House in Altoona, at the age of 49 years. She is survived by her husband Scott of Altoona; three children: Jesse Gingerich and Kyle (Tasha) Gingerich all of Wellman and Samantha (Zephaniah) Leaton of Kalona; a step daughter: Kaitlyn Frederickson of Natchitoches, LA; three grandchildren: Nasya and Niah Leaton Clara Gingerich and a granddaughter due in May; her mother and step father: Helen (Tom) Kessler of Williamsburg; a brother: Helmuth (Christine) Iburg of Williamsburg; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Harold and grandparents. Celebration of Life will be 10:30 am Friday, April 27, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
