Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Henry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nola, of Amana; three children, Erin (John) Ballard, of Norway, Amy (Brian) Carlson, of Peculiar, MO and Todd (Rebecca) Moser, of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Betz, Cody Carlson, Magdalyn Carlson and Abigail Moser; three great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Charles and James Betz; and a brother Reynold (LaVerna) Moser, of Amana. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Moser, a nephew and many other loved relatives and friends.

Henry was born December 22, 1931 in Amana, the son of John and Louise (Fels) Moser. He graduated from Amana High School with the class of 1950. He was united in marriage to Nola Jane Brockschink on October 18, 1958 at St. James United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.

After high school, Henry worked at the Amana furniture shop where he crafted beautiful walnut furniture. He also traveled throughout eastern Iowa showing movies; a skill he used as a Corporal in the United States Army to bring joy to the troops he was stationed with in South Korea. Henry received a commendation citation for his service in the Korean conflict.

His craftsman abilities extended to mechanics where he first honed his skills at the Amana gas station and later in a career at Pepsi Cola that spanned several decades until he retired in 1994. Thereafter, he continued to meet with friends at the Pepsi Cola breakfast club. He was an avid enthusiast of all things Chevrolet. He also enjoyed boating and teaching many generations how to water ski at Coralville Lake; being an expert slalom skier himself. If it had a motor, he could repair or rebuild it. The Dew Crew Pulling Truck became his favorite ‘piggy bank’ and pastime, filled with trophies and banquet memories even after he was 80 years young. If it was a map, he couldn’t read it. Nonetheless he took his wife, family and even grandchildren on many adventures, with missed exits and indelible memories.

Henry was a member of the Amana Church Society, Amana Heritage Society, the Amana Art Guild, Fantasy Truck Pullers of Wisconsin, East Central Iowa Pullers Association and Coralville Lake Kazoo Club.

You not only served and loved, but you did both well. We are better because of you. You will be missed.
