Williamsburg: Helene Frieda Doehrmann was born August 16, 1921 in Iowa County, Iowa the daughter of Bernhard and Frieda Graf Madoerin. She was baptized on September 11, 1921 and confirmed on April 14, 1935 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. She graduated from Conroy High School. Helene was united in marriage to Clarence Doehrmann on October 29, 1944 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Helene was a life long resident of the Iowa County area. She enjoyed helping on the farm, caring for family and volunteering at Lutheran Interparish School. She received the Governor's Award for volunteering at the school. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg and had been a member of the choir. She died on Monday, October 24, 2005 in the Williamsburg Care Center from complications of Parkinson disease at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 8 days. Helene is survived by a son Gordon Doehrmann and wife Ethel and a daughter Helen Kozishek and husband Robert all of Williamsburg; four grandchildren: Tracy Bond and husband Chris, Nikki Stackhouse and husband Corey, Michelle Gueye and husband Modou and Brett Kozishek; three great grandchildren: Lelaina and Alexandra Olson and Abigail Gueye; a brother George Madoerin and wife Shirley of South Amana and a sister-in-law Lucille Bell of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence in 1999 and a brother Barney Madoerin in 1962. Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 28th at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg with Pastor Carl Cloeter officiating. Burial is in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the Uhlmann -Powell Funeral Home. A Memorial Fund has been established for Lutheran Interparish School and Amenity Hospice. Messages and Tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries.
