Helen D. Ross-Fedora, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Arbor Court. Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery in Branson, MO. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society. Born October 6, 1914, in Ozzburn, MO, Helen was the daughter of Arthur and Delta (Lewis) Cadogan. She spent her formative years in Muscatine, IA. On December 31, 1934, she married Ernie Ross. He preceded her in death in February of 1986. In August of 1991, Helen married John Fedora in Branson, MO. He preceded in death in 1998. Helen worked at the Button Factory and the Maid Rite in Muscatine. After she moved to Mt. Pleasant, she worked at Sheaffer Pen. She owned and operated the Magic Mirror and the Old 34 Grill both in Mt. Pleasant. While living in Branson, MO, she worked at Silver Dollar City in the finance department. Helen enjoyed playing card games and traveling throughout the United States and overseas with her husbands. She also loved to entertain friends and family at her lake house in Branson. At one time, Helen was an active volunteer and member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Branson Garden Club, the Moose and other organizations. Survivors include a son, Edward Ross of El Paso, TX; one sister, Louise (John) Wise of Freeport, IL; two brothers, Lewis (Ruth) Cadogan of Oklahoma City, OK, and Lee Cadogan of Davenport, IA; a son-in-law, Don Messer of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and a half-sister, Judy Winslow of Davenport, IA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-children and several step- grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one daughter, Marcia Messer; one sister, Katharine Veach; and two brothers, William Cadogan and Gene Cadogan.
