Helen Mae Burdick, age 79 of Marengo, died peacefully at her home on Monday, December 6, 2021, following a short illness. Private Graveside Services were held 2:00 P.M. December 7, 2021, at Mount Calvary Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be contributed to the Marengo American Legion Post 76 for the bingo program. Kloster Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Helen Mae Blair was born June 13, 1942, in Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Francis Oscar Blair and Esther Josephine Humphrey Blair. Helen met Gordon S. Burdick in Tucson, Arizona, where they fell in love. The couple married on January 3, 1960. They have spent 61 years enjoying life and raising six children. Helen enjoyed their fishing trips and traveling to Canada. She also looked forward to her weekly outings to play Bingo at the American Legion Hall in Marengo.
Helen is survived by her husband Gordon; six children, Steve (Adrienna) of Oxford, Dwayne (Tammy) of Homestead, Brenda Countryman (Lee) of North English, Glen of Oxford, Gordy of Homestead, and Wanda Johnson (Randy) of Oxford; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Keith Blair, and her in-laws.
