KEOTA-Helen M. Bohr, age 94, of Keota, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington, following a brief illness. Helen was born February 22, 1914, near Keota, to Everett and Velva (Henderson) Green. She graduated from Washington High School and Washington Junior College. Helen did secretarial work at Wellman Community School and Simpson Finance Company in Washington. She also worked at Grimes Decorating Shop for 4 years. On October 14, 1939 she married Dorvin (Kelly) Bohr in Keota. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was active in the U.M.W. She later attended the United Church of Faith. Helen was also a member of the Wilson Memorial Library Board, Fortnightly Club and Harper Women's Club and enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. Survivors include three children: Doris Miller and husband Denny of Arvada, Colorado, Allan Bohr and wife Mary Ann of Columbia, Missouri and Jon Bohr and wife Mary Beth of Wausau, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and granddaughter: Theresa Bohr. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the United Church of Faith in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes and Pastor Sallie Graves officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota. A memorial fund has been established for the Wilson Memorial Library. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
