Helen L. Byers, age 69, of North English, Iowa died on April 16, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a massive heart attack. Helen was born on November 27,1944, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Eileen (Schriefer) Byers. She is survived by her siblings: Nancy Byers Lahman (Gene) Clemmons of North Carolina; Eileen (Nonnie) DeVol (Nelson)of Davenport, IA; Hal Byers (Barbara) of Winchester CA; Larry Byers of Davenport IA; Glynn Byers (Vicki) of Branson MO; Van Byers of Racine WI; Carol Byers Hurt (Doug) of Urbandale, Ia; and Myra Byers Heer (Ron) of Winchester Virginia . Helen was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jack Byers. Powell Funeral Home, North English, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services. Interment will be at a later date in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
