Helen Elizabeth Ihrig was born May 15, 1917 in Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Pond) Ihrig. She graduated from Wellman High School and attended the Iowa State Teacher's College. She lived in Wellman where she worked as a bookkeeper, and has lived Cedar Rapids for the last 20 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Cedar Rapids. Helen died on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids following a long illness at the age of 87 years. Helen is survived by a brother-in-law Ray Wittrig of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law Bernice Ihrig of Hiawatha; and several nieces and nephews. She was prededed in death by her parents and 7 brothers and sisters.
