H. Dorothy Graber 90, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant, IA.Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., that evening. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery. Donations of love and friendship may be made to The Fellowship Cup or Henry County Extension Master Gardeners for the beautification of uptown Mt. Pleasant. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com. Born September 4, 1925, in Olds, IA, Helen Dorothy was the daughter of Robert John and Anna Metzger Davis. She was a graduate of Olds High School. On June 23, 1946, Dorothy married Warren John Graber in Olds, IA. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2005.Following her marriage, Dorothy farmed with her husband in the Noble, IA area. The couple moved to Mt. Pleasant, IA in 1958. At the time of her husband's retirement, the couple moved to El Paso, TX for 10 years, from 1983 until 1992 and then returned to Mt. Pleasant for the rest of her life. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, where she played the piano for church services. She also played the piano in the saloon during Old Threshers. Dorothy enjoyed quilting and was an active member of a quilting club. She had a large vegetable garden and liked to tend her flowers, as well. She was a past member of Eastside Mother's Club. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Ronald Dean "Doc" Graber of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Gary Lee Graber of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Dean (Joyce) Davis of New London, IA, and Jerry (Sharon) Davis of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Hunter of Phoenix, AZ She is also survived by three grandchildren, Carly Graber, Renee Graber, and Glen Graber.Along with her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Robert Graber; three sisters, Maxine Seberg, Arlene Kremer, and June Hunter; and two brothers, Kenneth Davis and Donald Davis.
