Helen V. Dickman, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, formerly of Danville and West Burlington, IA, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit. Open visitation will be held Monday, December 11, 2006, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Bill Salzmann officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society. Born November 8, 1915, in Missouri, she was the daughter of Clyde and Nora Russell Austin. Helen attended and graduated from high school in Laredo. On October 12, 1940, she married Clarence Dickman in Chillicothe, MO. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1975. Helen was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family. Helen also had an interest in antiques, enjoyed shopping and working in her garden. Survivors include one daughter Marcia and her husband Paul Cross of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one son Jim Dickman and his wife Debbie of Pasco, WA; six grandchildren, Phil Dickman and his wife Marcia, Tim Dickman, Steven Dickman, Kevin Cross, Angela Runnells and Kathy Cross; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews, including a niece Pam Austin with whom she was especially close. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence, and three brothers, Clyde Austin, Maurice Austin and Nolan Austin.
