Harold "Stub" Raymond Wade, was born August 31, 1925, near North English, Iowa, the son of Walter Wayne and Jennie Belva Butterbaugh Wade. He graduated from North English High School in 1944. He was a member of the United States Navy during WWII. On July 24, 1948, he married Melva Huedepohl, near Victor, Iowa. Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing. Harold died on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the English Valley Care Center, North English, at the age of 85 years. He is survived by a son Randall Wade of Waterloo; and 3 sisters: Belva Yoss, Hazel (Glen) Cobb all of North English and Evelyn (Wayne) Kurtz of Vinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Barbara Cairns and a brother Walter Wade. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Millersburg. Pastor Paul Nus will officiate. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, North English.
