Glenn E. Millice was born December 20, 1941 near Wellman, Iowa the son of Chase and Alene (Fry) Millice. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1960. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1962 where he served for 21 years. On June 30, 1963 he was united in marriage to Joyce Plecker in Wellman. Glenn has lived his entire life in the Wellman community. He worked for Proctor and Gamble for 11 years, Wade Ford Motors for 19 years, and the Mid-Prairie Community School District as a custodian for 7 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Wellman Lions Club, and the National Rifle Association. He served on the Wellman Fire Department for 35 years, and managed the Wellman Recreation Center for 9 years. Glenn died on Monday, November 20, 2006 at Parkview Manor in Wellman following a lengthy illness at the age of 64 years. Glenn is survived by his wife Joyce of Wellman; a son Mark and wife Sandra of Wellman; a daughter Angela Smeltzer and husband Jeff of Roscoe, Illinois; seven grandchildren - Rochelle, Devin, Breanna and Kristina Millice, Madison and Colton Smeltzer, and Jonathan Phillips; a great grandson - Evan Phillips; two brothers - Jim and wife Cozy of Wellman; Paul and wife Nancy of Iowa City; and a sister Janice Grigsby and husband Robert of Wellman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Fire Department.
