Glen M Seberg, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Jim Stiles and Pastor Jeff McPheron officiating. Burial will be in Finley Cemetery with full Military Rites by the Henry County Honor Guard. Gifts of love and friendship may be given to Finley Cemetery Association. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.Born on the family farm, in rural Swedesburg, IA, on October 6, 1923, Glen was the son of Roy and Fannie McPheron Seberg. He attended Union #9 Country School and was a 1940 graduate of Olds High School. On March 20, 1944, Glen married Louise Honora Fenton at Olds Congregational Church.Glen proudly served in the United States Navy Air during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946, and returned to farming with his brother, and later his son. A lifelong farmer, Glen semi-retired and moved to Olds in 1995, followed by a move to Mt. Pleasant in 2012. Spending time with family, doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was Glen's greatest pleasure. He was an active, life-time member of Finley Chapel, serving in various offices and positions at the church. Named one of five Iowa Master Farmers by Wallace's Farmer Magazine in 1981, Glen served on the Supply Co-op Board in Mt. Pleasant for 25 years, the Farmer's Elevator Board in Olds for several years, along with being a member of the Pork Producers and Cattleman's Association. He was a 70 year member of the Olds American Legion Post #626. Including the 2016 Reunion, Glen never missed a day of the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion since 1950.Along with his loving wife, Louise, of 72 years, Glen is survived by a son, Duayne, (Cindy) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a daughter, Joyce (Ron) Deck of Moberly, MO; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Glen was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl Seberg; and four sisters, Zola Swarts, Izyel Waterhouse, Wanda Miller, and Erma Erickson.
