KINROSS-Gladys E. Snedigar, age 86, of Kinross, died Saturday, December 24, 2005, at the English Valleys Care Center in North English following a brief illness. Gladys was born October 19, 1919, in Washington County, Iowa, to Virgil William and Velma (Cady) Hagist. She attended country school and graduated from Keota High School. Prior to her marriage, Gladys worked at several places in Keota including Lyle Insurance and the dime store. On February 9, 1946, she married Charles W. Snedigar at the Christian Church Parsonage in Keota. The couple lived and farmed in the Keota and Kinross areas. Gladys attended the Kinross Christian Church and was a member of the Kinross Christian Church Social Circle and various other social clubs. She enjoyed yardwork, being outdoors, gardening and neighboring. Survivors include one daughter: Kathy Monaghan of Kinross; one son: John Snedigar and wife Cindy of Keota; six grandchildren: Brandon, Dawn and Nathan Monaghan, Samantha Allen and husband Russell, Zane and Lucas Snedigar; one step great granddaughter: Amanda Triska and two sisters-in-law: Ilo Hagist of Sigourney and June Hagist of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Charles in 2002; two brothers: Richard Hagist and Harold Hagist and a son-in-law: Ron Monaghan. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota with Revs. Jim Stout and Don Ridenour officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Iowa County. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
