KEOTA-Geraldine (Gerry) Margaret Rezac, age 92, of Keota, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Maplewood Manor in Keota. Gerry was born August 25, 1916, in East Lancaster Township, Keokuk County, Iowa, the daughter of Mathias and Mary (Conrad) Osweiler. She attended school at Ss. Peter and Paul in Clear Creek and St. Mary's in Keota. In February, 1937, she married Vincent Moroney in Marshalltown, Iowa. He died December 22, 1970. On April 22, 1972, she married former Park Rapids, Minnesota Chief of Police, Frank J. Rezac. He died February 18, 1981. Gerry lived in Park Rapids, Minnesota for 52 years and worked at Bishops Department Store for many years. She moved to Keota in April of 1999, where she was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include four sisters: Lillian Coffman of Keota, Irene Clubb of Sigourney, Lorraine (Stan) Kolosik of North English and Marlene (LaVerne) Pennington of Winter Haven, Florida; sister-in-law: Nadine Osweiler of Keota; three step-children: Bonnie (Dick) Carpenter and Sharon Rezac (Gary) Andersen, all of Park Rapids and Joe (Barb) Rezac of Baxter, Minnesota along with her loving step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands and three brothers: Richard Osweiler, Cyril Osweiler and Louis Osweiler. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, followed by a memorial mass. Rev. Bernie Weir will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Nevada, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish or Iowa City Hospice.
