Parnell-Geraldine Jane Meade was born June 27, 1921 in Holbrook, Iowa, the daughter of William and Margaret (Ruth) Meade. She attended school at Holbrook and Parnell. Geraldine worked as a hair stylist in her early years and later worked at Colony Village, Middle America and at HACAP in Parnell. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Holbrook, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parnell and the Altar and Rosary Society. Geraldine was a life long resident of the Holbrook and Parnell areas until moving to the English Valley Care Center seven years ago. Geraldine died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at the English Valley Care Center in North English after a long illness at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 7 days. She is survived by a sister: Marge Sauter of Williamsburg; four brothers: William (Doloris) Meade and Vernon (Marlene) Meade all of Williamsburg, Wayne (Aileen) Meade and Don (Shirley) Meade all of Parnell and many nieces and nephew. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Helen Meade and Anne Cypra, a brother: John Meade and two brother-in-laws: Paul Sauter and Claude Cypra. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am Monday, June 5, 2006 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parnell. Fr Pat Lumsden will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery in Holbrook. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Memorials are for the English Valley Care Center in North English.
