Marengo-Gerald Eugene Lenton was born April 15, 1921, in Marengo, Iowa the son of Clarence and Helen (Dickenson) Lenton. He attended Ladora High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1944. He married Julia M. Scarlett in Marengo, Iowa. Gerald was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed Fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Gerald died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital, in Iowa City, at the age of 92 years. He is survived by his wife Julia Lenton; a son Doug (Pam) Lenton all of Marengo; two stepsons: Bruce Ashby of Marengo and Robert Castle of Tucson, AZ; a stepdaughter: Brenda Ashby of Tucson, AZ; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister: Charlotte Brecht of Marengo and a brother: Dale Lenton of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Dean, three brothers: Daniel, Wilbur and Billy Lenton, a sister: Hilda and a stepdaughter: Judy Kramer. There will be no services at this time.
