KEOTA-Georgia M. Ellis, age 93, of Keota, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. Georgia was born February 2, 1919, in Douds, Iowa, to Ray and Lennit (Slultz) Barnett. On June 11, 1935, she married Henry Louis Ellis in Kahoka, Missouri. The couple lived in Hillsboro until moving to Keota in 1948, where Georgia worked at Flanders Locker Plant for seven years and Twilight Nursing Home for eight years, retiring in 1967. Georgia enjoyed dancing, playing cards, cooking, her children and grandchildren and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. Survivors include ten children: Dorothy Schwab of Keota, Barbara Gore of Manning, Dennis Ellis of Austin, Minnesota, Larry Ellis of Keota, Sally Snow of Keota, Mildred Yoder of Wellman, Terry Ellis of West Chester, Donna Baker of Fremont, Nebraska, Beverly Butner of Fremont, Nebraska and Richard Ellis of Keota; 18 grandchildren; 94 great, great great and great great great grandchildren; five sisters: Margaret Workman of Fairfield, Beulah Shilling of Fairfield, Leona Sanderson of Hillsboro and Charlotte Walrick of Danville and one brother: Jimmy Barnett of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Henry in 1993; one sister: Marie Ellis and three brothers: Robert Barnett, Rex Barnett and Lex Barnett. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Frances Baumert officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Washington County Hospice or the Keota QRS.
