George Edward Eash was born November 28, 1927 near Wellman, Iowa the son of Frank and Erma (Swartzendruber) Eash. On December 29, 1956 he was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Olson in Red Bank, New Jersey. He has lived in the Wellman community all of his life where he was a building contractor for many years and then owned and operated a cabinet shop. After his retirement he continued to do cabinet work at his home. He was a member of the United Christian and Baptist Church and Wellman Lions Club. George died suddenly on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City from an aortic aneurysm at the age of 79 years. George is survived by his wife Ruth of Wellman; two children - Maggie Keyser and husband Kevin of Iowa City; Matthew Eash and wife Rebecca of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; four grandchildren - Jay and Jeff Keyser, Laura and Karen Eash; and a sister - Arlene "Rosie" Miller and husband Mervin of Scottdale, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Evelyn Fisher, and an infant brother Amos Dean Eash.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for United Christain and Baptist Church or Habitat for Humanity.
