Gayle Moothart Huebner was born April 30, 1921 near Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Alexis and Edith (Chapman) Wade. She graduated from Wellman High School. On March 17, 1941 she was united in marriage to Harold Moothart in Kahoka, Missouri. Harold died in 1976. In 1981 Gayle was united in marriage to Wayne Huebner in Alden, Iowa. Gayle lived in Wellman, Washington, Alden, Iowa Falls and has lived in Kalona the last four years. Gayle sold Avon for many years. She was a member of the Alden Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, dancing, playing cards and socializing. Gayle died on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 89 years. Gayle is survived by three children - Doug Moothart and wife Bonnie of Washington; Jane Leyden and husband Mike of Washington; Bret Moothart and wife Tammy of Adel; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Lorack of Coralville; sister-in-law Florence Wade of Iowa City; brother-in-law Irwin Moothart; and a step son Greg Huebner of Alden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a daughter Debbie, a son Kerm; four brothers - Daryl, Dean, Lamont, Calvin; two sisters - Helen and infant Goldie; and a step son Gary Huebner. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2010 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Rev. Rich Pippert will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Alden Methodist Church.
