Gayle J. Snyder

Gayle J. Snyder, 66, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, November 21, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will begin after 4:00 p.m., on Friday, November 25, 2016, at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 26, at Faith Christian Outreach Church, with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. Burial, in Muscatine, IA, will be next week. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that gifts of love and friendship be given to them for Gayle's expenses. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.Born in Muscatine, IA, on November 14, 1950, Gayle Joanne was the daughter of Samuel Clarence and Minnie B. Hathaway Snyder. She was a Louisa Muscatine High School graduate. For many years, Gayle supplied respite care for individuals with special needs. A member of Faith Christian Outreach Church, Gayle was a dedicated volunteer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. A talented cook and baker, she was known for baking sweet treats for special occasions. Gayle is survived by two sons, Michael (Jolene) McAfee of Virginia Beach, VA, and Parnell (Norma) Davis of Columbus Junction, IA; two daughters, Stephanie (Paul) Borges of Stuttgart, Germany, and Patricia (Marc) Williams of Orlando, FL; four brothers, Larry (Sally) Snyder, Bob (Cindy) Snyder, Gary (Doris) Snyder, and Walt (Rita) Snyder; and three sisters, Sharon Hunt, Mary Bragg, and Kathy Snyder. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Matthew, James, Morgan, Camryn, Jocelyn, Aubrey, Paul Jr., Jeremiah, Joshua, and Baby Davis.Along with her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence Snyder, Don Snyder, Melvin Snyder, and John Snyder; and three sisters, Marianne Farrar, Janet Mairet, and Margaret Snyder, who died in infancy.
