Gary Ruth, Jr.

Gary Ruth, Jr., 29, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Wednesday, February 07, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on MONDAY, February 12th, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel that evening. A Christian Vigil service will follow the family visitation with the Rev. Paul Connolly officiating. Born April 3, 1988, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, Gary Allen, Jr. was the son of Gary Allen and Cindylynn (Tousignant) Ruth, Sr. He was a 2006 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School.

Gary was a self-employed truck driver and mechanic. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a former member of the Mt. Pleasant Bowling Youth and Adult Leagues.

Gary enjoyed fishing and was an avid motorcyclist.

Survivors include his parents, Gary and Cindy Ruth, Sr.; a brother, Daniel Ruth; and grandparents, Daniel and Donna Tousignant, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Lou Tousignant and paternal grandparents, James H. and Lura Jean Ruth, Sr.
