Garry "Butch" Krieger

Garry K. "Butch" Krieger, 55, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence. The family will host a memorial gathering at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Pollmiller Park, east of West Point, IA. There will be no formal services. Memorials may be given to The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight and left at Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel the week of April 21st during normal business hours. Born November 3, 1958, in Burlington, IA, Butch was the son of Garry K. and Donna Wheeler Krieger. He attended school in Burlington, IA, and Southeastern Community College where he studied autobody repair. On September 16, 1978, he married Connie Jean Waters in New London, IA. She survives. Butch was self-employed as an autobody technician and owned and operated Fantasy Design, a sign painting business. He was a talented, self-taught, guitar player. Butch particularly enjoyed spending time with family and friends while camping. He liked barbequing and dirt track racing. Along with his wife, Connie, Butch is survived by a son Russell Krieger of Mt. Union, IA; his mother, Donna, "The Grandmother," Krieger of Burlington, IA: and two sisters, Julie (Mark) Wilson and Kelli (Shane) Reynolds, both of Burlington, IA. Butch was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Russell and Millie Krieger; and a brother, Michael Krieger who died in infancy.
