Freda Miller

Wellman- Freda Sophia Miller was born January 6, 1910 in rural Johnson County, the daughter of August H. and Anna (Emde) Pokrantz. Freda grew up in Wellman and lived in the Wellman and Keota communities all her life. On August 15, 1931 Freda was united in marriage to Wayne M. Miller in Washington. She worked at McNurlen Produce Company and Twighlight Rest Home until retiring in 1969. Freda passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in Washington at the age of 107 years.
Freda is survived by a daughter; Virginia (Jim) Ehrenfelt of Wellman; 3 grandchildren: Kathy West, Larry Ehrenfelt, Chris Slegh; numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne in 1989, a daughter Jo Ann Slegh; a brother John Pokrantz; three sisters: Ella Schusseler, Anna Stauffer and Emma Marner.

Celebration Of Life Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. Burial will be in the Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00pm until service time on Saturday September 2, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A general memorial fund has been established.
