Williamsburg- Frankie Jo Moennich was born October 30, 1946, in Russellville, Arkansas, the daughter of Frank and Norma (Teal) Yeager. She graduated from West Liberty High School. Frankie was united in marriage to Milferd D. Moennich on August 2, 1968 at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead, Iowa. She was employed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for a number of years before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and playing cards. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Frankie passed away after a honorable and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Colonial Manor in Amana at the age of 68 years.
She is survived by her husband Milferd of Williamsburg; a son: Adam Moennich (Elicia Wintermeyer) of Ladora and 2 grandsons: Garrett and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Jean Harper.
Celebration of Life Service will be 1:30 pm Friday, August 28, 2015 at the St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. Pastor Terry Small will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for St. John Lutheran Church or donor's choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Feeley, Dr. Miller and their staff at the Cancer Center of Iowa City Mercy Hospital. Also the Colonial Manor and staff and Essence of Life Hospice of Amana for the wonderful care that Frankie received.
