Frances Minnie Leigh was born November 8, 1909 in Mystic, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Minnie (Mael) Fisk. She graduated from Centerville High School. On March 12, 1938 she was united in marriage to Fred Leigh in Centerville, Iowa. They lived in Centerville, Davenport and Des Moines. She worked as a retail sales clerk for Von Maur department store. She later moved to Wellman. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Woman's Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader for many years. She was very proud that her 5 sons were all United States Military Veterans. Frances died on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the McCreedy Home in Washington following a long illness at the age of 96 years. Frances is survived by 4 sons - James Leigh and wife Donna of Davenport; Bob Leigh and wife Merna of Lady Lake, Florida; Tom Leigh; Ted Leigh and wife Lorna all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a daughter-in-law Evelyn Leigh of Wellman; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sons - Bill Leigh, infant Jackie Leigh; 2 sisters - Bertha Hirschenson and Elsie Thompson; and 7 brothers - Raymond Fisk, Loman Fisk, Ralph Fisk, Roy Fisk, Edgar Fisk, and Harold Fisk.
