Wellman Dateline Frances Lucille (Polton) Ulin, age 76, died following an extended illness at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, on Monday, August 16, 2004. Funeral services will be held at __ PM on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Powell Funeral Home And Cremation Service in Wellman. Rev. Gene Carpenter will officiate. Frances was born on January 29, 1928 in Iowa County, near Wellman, IA, a daughter of Cleason and Marcella Florang Polton.Frances graduated form Wellman High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Ivan Ulin on May 16, 1947 in Kinross, IA. She lived her married life in Wellman, where she was a member of the Baptist Church. She was a homemeaker, a bookkeeper for Sinclair Station for 21 years, and a long-time antique dealer. Frances is survived by her husband Ivan Ulin of Wellman, two sons: Douglas Ulin and his wife Deborah of Wellman, Thomas Ulin and his wife Carmela of Wellman; three daughters: Cynthia Prohosky of Phoenix, AZ; Mary Ulin of Washington, IA; and Heather Fleming and husband Kenny of Marengo, IA; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Helen Martin and Marge Griffith, and a brother Charles Polton.
