Floyd M Hopkins

North English- Floyd Michael Hopkins was born March 29, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Ramona Pauline (Dahler) Hopkins. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1981. Floyd was united in marriage to Lori Ann Flanegan on December 31, 1986 in Iowa City. He worked as a carpenter for Jim Riess Construction for many years. Floyd attended Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycle rides, gardening, quiet evenings talking with Lori, playing video games with his boys and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He loved taking the boys to Adventureland when they were younger. Floyd died on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 58 years.

He is survived by his wife Lori of North English; four sons Lyle (Christina Crawford) Hopkins of Fairfield, Josh (Sabrina) Hopkins, Jason Hopkins and Matt (Ashley Belden) Hopkins all of North English; nine grandchildren Chris, McKenna, Johnathan, Ariel, Noah, Nyxton, Novak, Jayden and Daphne; a sister Linda Kracht of North English; a brother Allen (Brenda Furler) Kemp of Parnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother Benjamin Kemp.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the South English Cemetery.
