Florine M. Rowe

Williamsburg- Florine Martha Rowe was born October 26, 1934, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Martha (Newkirk) Iburg.  Florine was united in marriage to Ernest “Gene” Rowe on December 5, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Iowa. Florine has worked at Little Chicago, Burg Department Store and was a housekeeper for Holiday Inn for 35 years.  She enjoyed quilting, taking trips with her friend Beverly and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 Auxiliary and T.O.P.S.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.   Florine died on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Colonial Manor in Amana at the age of 88 years.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Diane) Rowe of Conroy and David (Christina Thomas) Rowe of Williamsburg; 8 grandchildren, Julie (Chad) Maxfield, Aaron (Megan) Rowe, Azariah (April) Rowe, Jacob (Emily) Rowe, Jared Rowe, Alisha (Brady) Calow, Sarah (Ed) Rogness and Cody Thomas; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.; a sister, Erna Davies of Williamsburg and a sister-in-law, Leora Iburg of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest in 2003, son Louis Rowe, grandson Justin Rowe and siblings Gilbert, Florence, Irene, Hilda, Laverne, Everett and Louis. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 am Monday, June 5, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School.
