Florence Lydia Martinson 95 of Rapid City, South Dakota and formerly of Williamsburg was called home to be with our Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Clarkson Mt. View Health Care in Rapids City, SD
Florence Lydia Moennich was born December 12, 1927, near Homestead, Iowa, the daughter of Christian and Lydia (Huedepohl) Moennich. She received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God on January 28, 1928. She publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. She was united in marriage to Ralph Leonard Martinson on February 25, 1949 and blessed with 50 years of married life. Florence had worked at the Woolen Mill, Amana Refrigeration and later the Conroy Post office until retiring in 1991. God blessed her with many special people in her life. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. She moved to South Dakota in 2019 to be close to her daughter.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Linda (Randy) Kramer of Rapid City, SD; two grandchildren, Ryan (Stacy) Kramer and Robyn Kramer(Jared Degen); 3 great grandchildren and sisters Ethel Mumm and Elaine Hulseberg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Arnold Moennich and sisters Medora Hopp and LaVern Adams.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 9:00 am until service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established for Divine Shepherd Black Hawk, SD. Seminary Students and Lutheran Interparish School in Williamsburg.
