Williamsburg- Flora Gesina Augusta Teggatz, was born October 15, 1920, near Homestead, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Von Wiehe) Huedepohl. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Homestead and attended the St. John's Lutheran School. On February 14, 1939, Flora was united in marriage to Merlin H. Teggatz at St. John's Church. They farmed east of Williamsburg until Merlin's death in 1978, she then moved to Williamsburg. She worked at Colony Village, Lear Corporation and did 15 years of volunteer work at the Lutheran Interparish School, in Williamsburg. Flora moved to the North English Care Center in November 2008, and then to the Highland Ridge Care Center in June 2009, to be close to her family. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Flora enjoyed reading, crosswords and embroidering tea towels. Flora died on Monday, February 22, 2010, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 89 years. She is survived by 2 daughters: Carol Jean (Roland) Williams of Williamsburg and Marilyn (Larry) Martin of Murfreesboro, TN; 5 grandchildren: Dan (Terry) Williams, Ross (Peggy) Williams all of Williamsburg, Lial Williams of Monteagle, TN, April (Stephen) Roe of Iowa City and Brian (Leslie) Martin of Murfreesboro, TN; 9 great grandchildren: Kiley, Wade and Colton Williams, Anthony and Allison Roe, Molly Williams, Ashley Martin, Stephen Martin and Dolly Martin; 1 great great grandchild: Harken Turner 3 step great grandchildren: Matthew Stoner, Mitchel (Maggie) Stoner and Tiffani McClain; 3 step great great grandchildren: Carissa Stoner, Dylan Stoner and Wesley Stoner; a brother: Clarence (Ramona) Huedepohl of Millersburg; and 2 sisters: Norma McCoy and Leona Wille both of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merlin; 3 brothers Elmer, Walter and Alfred; and 5 sisters: Frieda Jones, Melva Wade, Dora Lorenz, Agnes Soedt and Linda Lorenz. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
