Faith Mary Virginia Plank

Faith Mary Virginia Plank was born April 1, 1922 in rural Wellman, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Carr) Wilkins. She attended Surprise Valley rural school. On May 5, 1939 she was united in marriage to David D. Plank in Iowa City. They made their home in the Wellman community where Faith was a homemaker. She was a member of the Daytonville Community Church. She enjoyed going to the Wellman Senior Center and playing bingo. Faith died on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Parkview of Wellman at the age of 93 years.
Faith is survived by 4 sons - Larry (Karen) Plank of Kalona, Greg Plank of Wellman, Jay Plank of Wellman, Justin Plank of North English; a daughter - Sandra (Charles) Klopp of Wellman; a daughter-in-law Sharon Plank of Iowa City; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David in 1995, 2 sons - William and Fred; a grandson Dennis Albright, 6 great grandchildren Faith Albright, Justin Albright, Raean Plank, Madison Plank, Abigail Plank, Chloe Plank, a sister Norma Bennett, 2 brothers Dean Wilkins and Henry Wilkins, and a half brother Charles Moffit.


Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman with Chaplain David Grimm officiating. Burial will be in the Wellman Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Monday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A general memorial fund has been established.
