Everett Edgar Dillon was born on April 16, 1919 near South English, IA, the son of Charles and Olive M. Shipman Dillon. The family later moved to the Millersburg area and Everett graduated from Millersburg High School in 1935. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1938 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He was on the USS Lexington when it was destroyed. He was discharged from the Navy in 1945. Everett was married to Eva Nyman in San Diego, CA on June 26, 1942 and she preceded him in death. Everett settled in Tacoma, WA, where he worked many years for ASARCO, a copper smelting company. He retired in 1977. He later married Alberta Speight in 1978 in Reno, NV and she too preceded him in death. Everett loved to bowl and had bowled several perfect games. He also enjoyed hunting and going salmon fishing. Everett moved to North English in June 2003 and became a resident of the English Valley Care Center in October 2007. He died after a brief illness on Friday, January 25, 2008, at the English Valley Care Center. Everett lived 88 years, 9 months and 9 days. He is survived by a sister June Caskey of North English, IA; a stepdaughter Leta Ruscheinsky of Puyallup, WA; a stepson Richard Armstrong; sisters-in-law Dorothy Dillon of North English, IA, Virginia Horr & Harriett Johnson both of Tacoma, WA; 2 step grandchildren Cindy & Dusty Ruscheinsky; 2 step great grandchildren Zach & Rayne Ruscheinsky; nieces and nephews: Richard Dillon, Robert Dillon, Marilee Reasoner, Karen Dillon, Karolyn Grove, Ronald Dillon, Patricia Stanich, Terry Caskey, Deanna Conner, Michael Caskey, Debra Brown, Sandra Hester, Kathy Hull, Jerrold (Bud) Fowler, Everett Fowler, Mark Fowler, Dennis, Barbara Delores & Donelda. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, sister Jean Fowler & husband Jerry, brothers Harold Dillon, Wayne Dillon, Wilmer Dillon and wife Mary and brother-in-law Russell Caskey, and nephews David and Chuck Dillon.
