Evelyn M Bohrofen

Evelyn Mary Bohrofen was born March 20, 1920 in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Ola (Harris) Baird. She graduated from Morning Sun High School and received cosmetology training. She moved to Keota in the early 1940's. On January 21, 1945 Evelyn was united in marriage to Dennis (Denny) Bohrofen at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. She worked as a beautician for 35 years, and ran Evelyn's Beauty Shop in Keota for many years, retiring in 1973. Evelyn and Denny lived on the family farm until moving to Wellman in 1996. She was a past member of TTT. She enjoyed spending time with her family, boating and she loved her cats. Evelyn died on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Windmill Manor in Coralville at the age of 95 years.
Evelyn is survived by a son Monte Bohrofen and wife Judy of Clive; a daughter Tracy Bohrofen and husband Kent Behrens of Omaha, Nebraska; and a sister Marian Haney of Mediapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denny, and a sister LeOra Jackson.
A private graveside service will be at a later date in the St Mary Cemetery in Keota. The Powell Funeral Home in Wellman is in charge of the arrangements.
