Evelyn Chrisman was born on June 27, 1919, in New Cambria, MO, a daughter of William and Kathryn Bixemann Wehner. She attended Catholic School in Wein, MO. Evelyn married Orville (Bud) Chrisman on June 30, 1937, in New Cambria. They moved to the Williamsburg , IA community in 1937. Evelyn worked at the Middle America Restaurant for 14 years and for Holden Foundation Seed Co. in Williamsburg until retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, flowers and gardening. Orville preceded her in death in April 1989. Evelyn died at the English Valley Care Center in North English on Sunday, September 6, 2009 following a brief illness. She is survived by daughters: Jean Koenighain and husband Michael of Williamsburg, IA and Erlene Lehn and husband Harold of Parnell, IA; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great granddaughter Christina Thurman, a sister Pauline Niemeier, and a brother Clarence Wehner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Williamsburg at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2009, with presider Rev. Joseph Roost . Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. A memorial fund has been established for St. Mary Catholic Church.
