Eva Catherine Dobbins

North English- Eva Catherine Dobbins was born October 9, 1921 in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Jess and Eva Stella (Moffitt) Hall. She attended country school. On October 10, 1938 Eva was united in marriage to Verne Dobbins at the Brethren Parsonage near South English. She helped Verne on the farm for many years and later worked at the University of Iowa and the Tri County Schools. Eva was a member of the Keswick United Methodist Church and the UMW. She enjoyed crocheting, doing ceramics, canning and gardening. Eva died on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the English Valley Care Center at the age of 96 years.

She is survived by five grandchildren Jeffrey (Mary) Dobbins of Rochester, MN, Crystal (Brian) Allen of Cedar Rapids, Sally (Jess) Bernhard of North Liberty, Timothy Dobbins of Bangkok, Thailand, and Matthew (Beth) Dobbins of Colorado Springs, CO; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law Adrienne Dobbins of North Liberty and Vonda Dobbins of Minneapolis, MN; a special niece Connie (Gary) Hanchett of Deep River and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded by her parents; husband; two sons Ronald and Gary; a grandson Christopher Dobbins; five brothers Lee, Ralph, Roy, Clarence and Ross Hall; and five sisters Eula Hall, Gladys Denison, Maud Denison, Lillie Cobb and Mary Tippie.

Celebration of Life Visitation will be on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in North English.
