Ethyl Edmundson, age 94, died on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Keswick with Rev. John Tunnicliff officiating. Visitation will be at Powell Funeral Home in North English on Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM. Burial will be in the Sorden Cemetery, near Keswick. Minnie Ethyl Edmundson was born on March 9, 1919, near Keswick, Iowa, the daughter of Will and Minnie Winegarden Sparrow. She grew up in the Keswick community and graduated from Keswick High School. Ethyl attended beauty school in Des Moines and worked a short time in Clear Lake. Ethyl married Dale Edmundson on February 8, 1939 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. They made their home in the Keswick community and were engaged in farming for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Ethyl loved listening to music and dancing. Dale preceded her in death in June 2001. Ethyl became a resident of Manor House in Sigourney in February 2007. She is survived by a son Roger and his wife Helen of Keswick; 3 grandchildren: Jeff Edmundson, Christine Kleinmyer and Scott (Colette) Edmundson; 7 great grandchildren: Jake (Jamie), Tamara (Nathan), Jordan, Sara, Josh, Benjamin, and Megan; and a great great grandson Lukas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Tony, brothers Melvin, Howard and Darold Sparrow, and a sister Hazel Goeldner.
